We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at the Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water QLD. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support our water and natural resource systems.
Key Responsibilities- Lead or Contribute to Innovative Solutions: Develop and implement efficient processes to improve water and natural resource data management and the delivery of associated products and services.
- Project Planning and Management: Plan and manage projects, resulting in projects delivered within budget, schedule, and quality parameters.
- Technical Expertise: Provide specialist full-stack technical skills using industry tools, including JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, C#/.NET, ArcGIS Map SDK for JavaScript, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, APIs, IIS, SSRS, SQL, Oracle Database, and SQL Server, to effectively develop, administer, triage, fix, and deploy on-premises applications, including spatial applications.
- Application Support and Enhancement: Ensure application supportability and suitability through providing application support to system users, planning and undertaking application testing, undertaking and supporting application enhancement and software upgrade activities, undertaking application improvement, and encouraging effective information and system management.
- Business and Legislative Knowledge: Maintain sound knowledge of client business and legislative requirements to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and new opportunities to utilize technologies.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships with clients and service providers both internal and external to the department.
- Documentation and Communication: Prepare a range of written material, including business requirements, briefing notes, application improvement/extension opportunities, and project, user, and technical documentation.
We are looking for a versatile and experienced Senior Software Engineer who can work as part of a small, experienced team across a variety of systems and technologies. Any relevant qualifications and memberships in computer science or computer engineering, information management, and/or project management would be highly regarded.
