Cloud Software Developer Position

Microsoft's Azure Cloud provides 10 exabytes of capacity across 50 regions, 100+ data centers, and over 1000 storage clusters. This scalable infrastructure powers millions of virtual machines, holds millions of hours of video, billions of photos, and vast amounts of analytics data.


As a key member of the Azure Storage team, you will define the technical direction of complex pieces of the cloud storage system, while delivering continued improvements and innovative features at a high quality. You will work on the latest server technologies and highly distributed systems, focusing on reliability, scalability, performance, consistency, and debuggability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine user requirements for a feature with stakeholders.
  • Support identification of dependencies and development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.
  • Create and implement code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.
  • Assist in breaking down work items into tasks and provide estimation.
  • Monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and recommend actions to restore it.
  • Review current developments and seek new knowledge to improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
