Job Description:
The role of Disaster Recovery Coordinator is to lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of disaster recovery initiatives. This includes project management, engagement activities, program and resource development, delivery of exercises and training.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting workshops with community members in significantly affected areas, providing information and knowledge to better prepare the area for future emergencies.
They will also engage with stakeholders including government departments, agencies, service providers, and the public to deliver a collaborative program.
The coordinator will prepare reports and project reporting, maintain and control project document management, and identify, implement, and review strategies for improved project delivery.
They will work with the Emergency Management Team to ensure consistency with current arrangements and programs.
About You:
Essential Experience:
- Extensive experience in project management, including the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of projects.
- Knowledge or experience in local government's role in emergency management.
- Experience in the training and facilitation and the conduct of workshops.
- Well-developed analytical, investigative, interpretative, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyse/interpret data and prepare quality reports.
- Tertiary qualification in Community Development and/or extensive experience in Emergency Management or Community Development, particularly in a local government environment.
