Job Opportunity

This role involves performing structural and durability testing of glass windows, doors, and balustrades ensuring all products meet relevant Australian Standards and project-specific requirements.

The position is responsible for setting up and operating mechanical testing rigs and hydraulic equipment to perform load impact and cyclic durability testing on glass products.

You will also be required to operate Ban saws hand power tools timber saws and drills to cut timber to length creating frames for materials to be held in testing rigs.

Additionally you will conduct testing procedures in accordance with AS 1288 AS 2208 and related Australian and international standards.

Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in Machine Operating or mechanical testing or quality assurance duties ideally in a manufacturing Timber or Glass preferred or construction-related industry.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and previous experience operating Ban saws hand and power tools and manual drilling equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and work with a range of testing instruments.
  • High level of attention to detail and accurate data entry/reporting skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a small but fast-paced testing team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare test specimens fixtures and jigs based on engineering and shop drawings.
  • Record and analyze test data prepare detailed quality and performance reports and flag non-conformances.
