About the Forensic Services Unit
Our team delivers support for coroner's investigations and forensic medical services, including mortuary operations and equipment maintenance.
Job Role:
As a Forensic Assistant, you will collaborate closely with senior staff to provide 24/7 support for coroner's investigations, handling deceased persons, and maintaining equipment. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and require adaptability, flexibility, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide mortuary services, including admission, storage, and release of deceased persons.
- Assist in mortuary operations, including cleaning and disinfecting facilities.
- Maintain equipment and stores, adhering to quality control standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in health science or equivalent (desirable).
- Immunisation for COVID-19, Hepatitis B, and participation in ongoing vaccination programs.
- Ability to work shift work on a rotating 24/7 roster and 10-hour shifts.
