About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Forensic Research Scientist to join our team at the Department of Justice and Community Safety. As a key member of our department, you will play a pivotal role in tissue donation and contribute positively to our community.

Your efforts will make a significant difference in the lives of many by working closely with medical specialists and Victorian hospitals to provide safe tissues for transplantation and medical research.

Our team conducts world-leading independent forensic medical and scientific expertise to the justice system and undertakes research that directly contributes to public health and safety and the just working of our legal system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receipting and processing specimens
  • Testing tissue and autopsy samples for infectious agents
  • Quality control, maintaining and calibrating equipment
  • Ensuring compliance with Code of Good Manufacturing Practice
  • Adherence to policies and Therapeutic Goods Administration guidelines
