Overview
Are you dedicated to enhancing the lives of others? Do you possess a nurturing and empathetic demeanor? If so, we invite you to consider the role of Direct Care Worker at our Residential Care Home.
As a Direct Care Worker on a casual basis, you will be instrumental in delivering outstanding care and assistance to our residents. Your role will encompass a range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the comfort, welfare, and dignity of those entrusted to our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting needs
- Facilitating mobility and dexterity
- Supporting transfers and lifting using appropriate aids
- Communicating and assisting with vision and hearing aids
- Managing clean laundry and clothing distribution
- Cleaning equipment, utensils, and personal belongings
- Providing transportation for clients
- Assisting clients with special requirements
- Supporting self-administration of medications
- Assisting with routine treatments and procedures
Essential Qualifications:
- Ability to collaborate effectively within teams
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with individuals from various backgrounds
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Willingness to assist and collaborate with colleagues
- Capacity to maintain strict confidentiality
- Competence in performing general tasks under supervision
- Some experience with elderly, frail, or disabled individuals in community or healthcare settings
