**Job Title:** Gastroenterology Fellow

Role Overview:

  • To provide a high-quality endoscopy service to patients in various settings, including wards, the Endoscopy Unit and outpatients.
  • Contribute to advancing gastroenterology in South Australia by providing specialized care and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the provision and supervision of endoscopic procedures for patients in Flinders Medical Centre and other locations within Southern Adelaide Local Health Network.
  • Manage gastrointestinal emergencies, including inpatients, and provide timely interventions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams in daily patient management, ensuring effective care and outcomes.
  • Educate and train junior medical staff, as well as engage in undergraduate clinical teaching.

Requirements:

  • Hold an MBBS or equivalent qualification and be registered with the Medical Board of South Australia as a medical officer.
  • Be registered in the final year of or have completed the Physician Training Programme of the RACP (Advanced Training Programme for Gastroenterology and Hepatology) or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in advanced endoscopic techniques is desirable.
  • Completion of at least 2 core years of advanced training is required.
