We are seeking a skilled Data Governance Specialist to join our team.

The role will be responsible for supporting the implementation of data governance activities and initiatives across our organization through our enterprise transformation program.

You will work closely with our Data Governance Leads, Data Owners, and System Integration (SI) Partners to ensure that core and critical data elements (CDEs) are well defined, documented, and governed throughout the data migration and system implementation lifecycle.

  • Support the identification, documentation, and maintenance of business and technical metadata for critical data elements (CDEs) across transformation streams.
  • Collaborate with Data Governance Leads and Data Owners to formalise data definitions, business rules, and domain-level standards.
  • Administer and Assist with the rollout of data governance frameworks, including ownership models, stewardship accountability, and issue resolution workflows.
  • Maintain and update data glossaries, lineage documents, data dictionaries, and stewardship registers.
  • Contribute to data quality management by helping define data quality rules and supporting profiling and issue logging efforts.
  • Help manage governance artefacts and contribute to the preparation of materials for Data Governance Council meetings, working groups, and workshops.
  • Work with business SMEs and the change team to socialise governance concepts, raise awareness, and support adoption of governance practices.
  • Maintain traceability between business processes, data sources, systems, and ownership to support lineage and accountability.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and implement data governance strategies and solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data quality and governance.
  • Provide expert advice on data governance best practices.
What You Will Need
  • Minimum 1–3 years' experience in a data governance or data management role.
  • Experience working on Data Governance Frameworks (DAMA, DCAM) and initiatives.
  • Understanding of metadata, data mapping, data dictionaries, lineage, and ownership concepts.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical data concepts into business-friendly language.
  • Proficiency in Excel and documentation tools (e.g. Confluence, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to document and manage large volumes of structured information in an organised, consistent manner.
  • Good Communication and engagement skills with business and technical stakeholders to elicit and document data requirements or definitions.
  • Ability to work across multiple workstreams and adapt in a fast-paced transformation environment.
Desirable Skills
  • Exposure to enterprise data governance frameworks or tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Ataccama, Alation).
  • Familiarity with data quality practices, profiling techniques, or stewardship models.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Boomi, OIC, Informatica).
  • Experience working on transformation programs involving ERP (Oracle Fusion), HR (Workday), Asset Management (Hexagon), or Cloud Data Platforms (Snowflake, Azure).
  • Understanding of master data, and reference data management principles.
