Maintenance Electrician Role

Our organization is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.

The Position

  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in machinery, control panels, and wiring systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment and systems reliable and reduce breakdowns.
  • Install and upgrade electrical systems (motors, control circuits, lighting, distribution boards).
  • Ensure safety and compliance with electrical codes, standards, and workplace health & safety.
  • Document and report maintenance activities including repairs, inspections, and system updates.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a similar position, preferably in the food or FMCG industry. You will also need:

  • Electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance of industrial/food processing equipment.
  • Fault finding in complex electrical systems and machinery to meet production targets.
  • Breakdown response and preventive maintenance, including routine facility upkeep.
  • Read and interpret electrical/mechanical blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, multitasking, and communication skills.
  • Identify and implement improvements in maintenance practices and plant performance.
  • Computer literacy with experience using maintenance systems.
  • Knowledge of WHS principles and safety standards compliance.
  • Trade-qualified electrician; prior experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred.
