About this Opportunity
We seek a qualified Therapist to join our program as part of the GambleAware initiative in Queanbeyan NSW.
This is an exciting chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Australians affected by gambling harm. As a Therapist, you will deliver specialist interventions via face-to-face, telephone, and online methods to support individuals, couples, families, and groups.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Psychology or Counselling, current membership with a recognised professional association, and proven experience in therapeutic work. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Deliver therapeutic interventions to individuals, couples, families, and groups affected by gambling harm via face-to-face, telephone, and online modalities.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review individualised treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals.
- Provide services in line with the program framework, including intake, assessment, and evidence-based interventions.
- Facilitate group support sessions to address gambling harm in the community.
- Respond to referrals promptly and make appropriate internal and external referrals to support clients holistically.
- Maintain accurate, confidential client records and data in line with funding requirements.
Essential Requirements for Success
- Degree in Psychology or Counselling / Other related Degree and Diploma in Counselling.
- Current membership of a relevant peak professional body or association.
- Proven experience in therapeutic work, including assessment, case planning, and the delivery of individual, couple, family, and group sessions across face-to-face, phone, and online settings.
- A strong understanding of gambling-related harm and the challenges experienced by affected individuals and families.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement tailored treatment plans supporting client recovery and wellbeing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Current NSW driver's license.
