Special Education Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a highly capable leader to oversee the development of inclusive practices for students with disability and drive a shared vision focused on delivering high-quality learning outcomes for all students.

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in both education and the wider community. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading, managing, and delivering all aspects of special education at the school.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated capacity to build authentic connections with students, parents, and community to strengthen a culture of productive educational partnerships. They will also possess a deep understanding of the legislation and policies that impact on schooling, especially in relation to students with disability.

As part of the close-knit Norfolk Island community, you will play a vital role in the success of the school while also demonstrating a strong commitment to community engagement.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading the development of a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Demonstrated capacity to build authentic connections with students, parents, and community to strengthen a culture of productive educational partnerships.
  • Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling, especially in relation to students with disability.
  • Manage the human, financial, facilities, and curriculum resources of the unit to achieve goals.
