Design Manager for HVDC Converter Stations

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead our team in the development of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) converter stations.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of engineers and coordinators to ensure on-scope, on-time, and on-budget delivery of engineering design
  • Coordinate with discipline lead engineers and sub-consultants to manage design scope and ensure alignment with project objectives
  • Manage engineering change control processes and coordinate engineering input into design reports and progress reporting
  • Ensure quality and compliance of design and engineering produced by the discipline leads
  • Champion the Safety in Design process and facilitate Value Optimisation processes
  • Coordinate and manage listed general design deliverables
  • Support resource management including coordination with regional discipline leads and engineering management

Requirements:

  • Design/Engineering manager skillset, HVDC/substation preferred
  • Strong coordination skills
  • High Voltage Substation / Transmission experience
  • Australian (Victorian / Tasmanian) transmission market experience highly desirable
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills in complex and changing environments
