Privacy Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Privacy Compliance Manager to join our team at carsales. As a key member of our compliance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's adherence to privacy laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Privacy Policies: Create and implement comprehensive privacy policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Australian privacy laws.
- Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments: Conduct thorough privacy impact assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Support Data Scanning and Consent Management: Collaborate with the legal team to implement a data scanning and consent management tool to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Conduct Regular Audits and Assessments: Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with privacy laws and regulations.
- Support Incident Response: Work closely with the legal team to investigate and respond to privacy incidents.
- Collaborate with Privacy Champions: Work closely with a group of Privacy Champions across the business to ensure a culture of privacy awareness.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Regulations: Stay up-to-date with changes in privacy laws and regulations, including the proposed Australian Privacy Act reforms.
- Strong Experience in Privacy: Demonstrated experience in a privacy-focused role, with a strong understanding of privacy laws and regulations.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to Work Independently: Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Data Mapping Tools: Experience with data mapping tools or consent management platforms viewed favourably.
- International Jurisdiction Experience: Exposure to international jurisdictions, international privacy compliance and frameworks (particularly GDPR and CCPA) and technology businesses viewed favourably.
