About the Role

Lycopodium is seeking an experienced Senior Rail Designer/Engineer to join our growing team in Melbourne. As a key member of our Design Group, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions and leading the design team to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Oversee the quality of output from the engineering and drafting team to ensure accuracy and compliance with design review processes.
  • Develop and implement technical solutions that meet design quality requirements and client expectations.
  • Monitor project progress and provide input and feedback to ensure timely completion.
  • Coach and mentor engineers and draftspersons to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Provide technical support and input to proposals, customer presentations, and marketing activities.
  • Prepare design scope, budget, and schedule for written proposals.
Requirements
  • 10 years of post-graduate experience in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Rail and civil projects, with a strong understanding of design and project management principles.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
  • Member of Engineers Australia with Chartered Status (CPEng) is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • High attention to detail and exceptional knowledge of engineering designs and calculations.
  • Experience in design and project management, with a strong understanding of project delivery processes.
