About the Role

Lycopodium Limited is seeking a highly experienced Senior Rail Designer/Engineer to join our Melbourne team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in rail engineering and design, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with clients to ensure effective communication and project success.
  • Lead multi-discipline engineering and drafting teams to deliver high-quality output and meet project deadlines.
  • Ensure technical solutions are compliant with design review processes and quality requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, providing input and feedback to team members as needed.
  • Coach and mentor engineers and draftspersons to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Provide technical support and input to proposals, customer presentations, and marketing activities.
  • Prepare design scope, budget, and schedule for written proposals.
Requirements
  • 10 years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering or a design delivery role.
  • Proven experience in rail and wider civil projects.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in civil engineering.
  • Member of Engineers Australia with Chartered Status (CPEng) is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience managing client interactions on design and drafting issues.
  • High attention to detail and exceptional knowledge of engineering designs and calculations.
  • Experience in design and project management.
