Seeking an Organiser to operationalise our strategic plan. As a key member of the national team, you will assist industry section directors and organisers in driving union growth.

About the Role

The Organiser will focus on mobilising workers in priority industry campaigns. This role reports directly to the Chief Executive and Campaigns Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement organising plans aligned with MEAA's industry strategies and campaigns;
  • Implement and promote best practices that contribute to the union's goals;
  • Assist coordination and management of the work of the national team of organisers;
  • Develop the union's organising capability;
  • Support the development of Organisers.

Key Selection Criteria

  • A passion for improving workers' lives;
  • Ability to lead, motivate and educate union members;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Experience as an organiser preferred but not essential;
  • Ability to work flexible arrangements;
  • Leadership development skills;
  • Excellent communication, messaging and rapport building skills.
