Job Description

Sport and Recreation supports and encourages participation and success in sport and active recreation through delivery of various programs and services. Our aim is to improve the health and wellbeing of all Queenslanders by assisting them to be more active.

Our 10 Year Strategy

Activate Queensland 2019-2029 is the Queensland Government's 10 year strategy to further enrich the Queensland way of life. It harnesses the pride of our great sporting traditions, embraces our iconic natural environment and builds on our strong community foundations to deliver better health and wellbeing outcomes.

Accelerate 2022-2025

The department will provide targeted and deliberate action and investment to enrich the Queensland way of life through physical activity. This includes driving increased participation and pathway opportunities while positioning the state for success in the lead up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Our Focus

We are a dynamic hub that accelerates ideas into responsive products and programs for Queenslanders. This includes leading the design and development of contemporary and outcome focussed programs, coordinating key program activities, management of programs that provide direct support to Queenslanders, and accountability for the governance framework for Sport and Recreation grants.

  • Citizenship/Visa Requirements: You must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status or a visa permitting you to work in Australia.
