About the Role

The Licensing Officer will provide operational support and service through the administration of licensing procedures for various permission types. The role involves assessing applications to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, as well as providing accurate and timely information and advice to stakeholders via phone, face-to-face, or written communications.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assess and process high-volume licensing and registration applications, including High Risk Work (HRW) permits.
  2. Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on licensing requirements and procedures.
  3. Perform a range of administrative tasks, including mail processing, filing, archiving, and refunds, to support the licensing function.
  4. Ensure all completed work complies with approved procedures and policies.
  5. Develop and maintain knowledge, techniques, and skills to deliver a high-quality service.
  6. Refer complex issues, complaints, and permission type tasks to Senior Licensing Officers for processing and resolution.
  7. Accountable for creating and capturing accurate and complete records of business activities, in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
  8. Adhere to all WorkSafe policies and procedures, as well as relevant legislative requirements.

  • Well-developed time management, organisational, and attention to detail skills.
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to liaise with diverse client/stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage regular workloads with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb knowledge and learn new skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Good keyboard skills and experience in operating screen-based data management systems.
