About This Job
This job offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced laboratory environment, contributing to patient care and outcomes. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing a range of laboratory tasks and tests, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing manual and automated laboratory tests and procedures
- Data entry and troubleshooting
- Assisting with cut-up, frozen section, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, routine and special stains
- Maintenance of equipment and quality improvement activities
Requirements
- Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution
- Demonstrated practical experience in Anatomical Pathology diagnostic techniques
- Knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems and non-conformance management
- Ability to work in a team environment and manage competing priorities
- Customer-focused approach with good interpersonal skills and communication
