Senior Project Accountant

Job Overview:

  • We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Accountant to oversee daily finance and accounting for major capital projects and studies.
  • The ideal candidate will ensure project accounting tasks meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and quality standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Raise purchase requisitions and process invoices in our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Coordinate vendor recoveries with project teams to drive financial efficiency.
  • Monitor supplier payments and contribute to group performance targets, ensuring timely payment and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Perform monthly close activities, including journal entries and accruals, to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Create and maintain project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) in our ERP system, streamlining project management and financial tracking.
  • Manage project cost closeouts and resolve open commitments, minimizing financial risks.
  • Prepare monthly reports, variance analysis, and reconciliation between systems, providing insightful financial data for stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Hold a degree or qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in Project or Cost Accounting is essential.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive business outcomes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Excel is mandatory, with SAP highly desirable.
  • Show attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, ensuring high-quality financial reporting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with stakeholders across project, site, audit, and compliance teams.
