Specialist Driver Trainer – Gladstone

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Driver Trainer to join our team in Gladstone. As a Specialist Driver Trainer, you will be responsible for providing specialized training, assessment, and coaching to Toll drivers in all relevant aspects of their duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to support the delivery of Toll Group's driver training initiatives.
  • Assess driver competencies as part of pre-employment checks and re-assess current drivers to comply with business requirements and standards.
  • Coach drivers to safely and effectively carry out work processes, ensuring that work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and legislation.
  • Plan and coordinate training requirements and activities, including annual forward planning and monthly requirements.
  • Support the design and development of quality driver training materials in line with learning methodologies.
  • Ensure that all mandatory training requirements are met within the business, including effective document control and quality records system.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Workplace Training and Assessment.
  • Heavy Vehicle Drivers Licence (Prefer MC), DG licence, current SSAN (Security Sensitive Ammonium Nitrate), MSIC (Maritime Security Identity Card).
  • Knowledge of HV mass management, fatigue management, dangerous goods, load restraint, road transport rules and regulations.
  • Experience as a skilled and competent driver/MHE operator and being an experienced and competent Trainer and Assessor.
  • A can-do approach towards driver safety, coaching, and risk reduction.
  • Intermediate Microsoft office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to review training and assessment effectiveness and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
