About the Role

We are seeking experienced individuals to fill two critical positions within our Sprint Operations team in Hunter Valley, NSW.

Job Summary

This role is responsible for assisting and providing direction, supervision, and guidance to the Blast Crew in the process of loading, tying, and firing large shots. Additionally, as an MMU Operator, you will operate the MMU to pump the explosive product into pre-drilled blast holes on our customer site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating Equipment: Operating our MMU vehicle (Mobile Manufacturing Units) and other associated blasting plant and machinery;
  • Maintenance Support: Assisting with preventative maintenance;
  • Explosive Product Delivery: Assist with the 'hands-on' delivery of explosive products down pre-drilled blast holes on bench;
  • Team Collaboration: Working in tight unison with your teammates to provide an excellence in service to our valued customers;
  • Daily Administration: Daily administration and customer interactions;
  • Operational Expertise: Providing operational blasting knowledge, direction and advice to Orica's blast crews and associated stakeholders;
  • Shotfiring Duties: Shotfiring duties including magazine management, managing the loading, tying and firing of blasts, following drill and blast designs;
  • Teamwork: Working in tight unison with your teammates to provide excellence in service to our valued customers;
  • Training and Development: Assisting with the training and mentoring of new team members;
  • Integrity and Respect: At all times acting with integrity and respect;
Requirements
  • Safety Focus: An unquestionable attitude toward working safely as a priority;
  • Operational Experience: Experience operating an MMU, or similar blast delivery vehicle; or Current HR Licence;
  • Teamwork Skills: A positive team-orientated work ethic;
  • Customer Service: A positive attitude to customer service;
  • Shotfiring Experience: Experience operating as a full shotfirer;
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of explosive and storage regulations;
  • Blasting Procedures: Knowledge of blasting and blasting procedures;
  • Clearance Requirements: Hold a current NSW Explosives Security Clearance;
  • Licence: Current HR licence (desirable but not essential);
  • Safety Record: An impeccable safety record and commitment toward safety;
