Hospital Coordination Role at a Specialist Animal Hospital

About the Position
  • Strategic Clinical Leadership is key in this role. The successful candidate will lead daily hospital rounds and morning huddles (Monday to Friday), collaborating with senior nursing leaders and department heads, as well as developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for predictable, repeatable care.
  • The position involves fostering a high-performing team culture through structured career planning and resource & workflow planning, including creating and managing a master roster aligned with budget forecasts.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Clinical Leadership
    1. Lead daily hospital rounds and morning huddles (Monday to Friday)
    2. Collaborate with senior nursing leaders and department heads
    3. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for predictable, repeatable care
    4. Partner with the Clinical Director to align care delivery with our medical identity
    5. Promote a Sydney-wide approach to care methodologies across ARH sites
  2. Team Management & Development
    1. Recruit, induct, develop, and retain nursing talent through structured career planning
    2. Foster a high-performing, collaborative team culture
    3. Resource & Workflow Planning
    4. Create and manage a master roster aligned with budget forecasts
    5. Balance resources across departments to meet changing demands
    6. Manage referral coordination directly or through delegation
    7. Collaborate with Radiographer, Anaesthetist, and other departments to optimise workflow
  3. Policy & Compliance
    1. Ensure adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and legal requirements
    2. Contribute to policy development and procedural improvements
    3. Support team members in problem-solving and change implementation
    4. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality across all interactions
About You
  • Veterinary nursing qualifications or veterinary degree are required for this role
  • Experience in hospital coordination or team leadership in a Specialist Hospital is essential
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills are necessary for success
