About this role:

The Farm and Rural Legal Service seeks a legal professional to provide specialist advice on credit and debit related issues to primary producers and rural small business operators.

  • They will negotiate, mediate, and document terms of agreement for financial disputes between primary producers and lenders.
  • Represent clients in consumer law matters, including preparing cases, instructing counsel, and appearing in courts and tribunals.
  • Guide team members on consumer law and credit-related issues affecting primary producers and rural small business operators.

This role requires extensive travel throughout Queensland to provide legal advice to clients and attend meetings with rural financial counsellors, banks, and creditors.

  • Strong knowledge and interest in rural matters, particularly issues impacting primary producers and rural small business operators.
  • Ability to work in challenging and complex environments, providing high-quality advice and representation to clients.
