Job Title: Merchandise Planning Professional

We are seeking an experienced Merchandise Planning Professional to join our team. As a key player in our planning function, you will be responsible for driving business growth through strategic merchandise planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the planning team to develop and implement trading actions that align with business financial plans.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to create budget plans and re-forecasts.
  • Formulate product strategies to drive business growth, leveraging data-driven insights.
  • Ensure optimal stock levels by balancing profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide weekly summaries of key performance indicators for sales, stock, profit, versus budget and last year.
  • Balance newness, repeat business, width, depth, pricing architecture, colour, and category mix to meet business objectives.
  • Develop a balanced option plan to deliver the brand strategy, taking into account multiple markets.
  • Model scenarios for key events to determine sales potential, considering traffic estimates and assumptions.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting as required by the business and across different departments.
  • Co-develop short-term and long-term category strategies with the buyer to maximize business trade.
  • Maintain clear processes to ensure efficient stock management.
  • Assist in developing team capabilities and elevating performance across the planning function.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Merchandise Planning role.
  • Experience in E-commerce is essential.
  • Experience with planning software is preferred.
  • Background in a fashion retailer is beneficial.
  • Tertiary qualification in Retail, Business, or Finance is an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork focus.
  • Good organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines and self-manage.
  • Initiative in identifying opportunities and engaging the team to execute on these.
  • Aptitude for numbers and attention to detail.
  • Resourceful in finding solutions to problems and creating efficiency.
