People & Development Officer - HR Generalist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled People & Development Officer to join our team at Catholic Education Diocese of Rockhampton. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for providing general administrative support to the People & Development team and wider business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment and Selection
    • Manage recruitment campaigns by writing job advertisements, supporting selection processes, processing necessary clearances for employment, and measuring effectiveness of recruitment practices.
  • Training and Compliance
    • Manage and organise mandatory training, compliance documentation, and monthly audits.
  • Employee Engagement
    • Educate People Leaders and employees on self-service data through effective internal communications.
    • Assist with general HR enquiries while reducing the volume of queries through effective communication and support documentation.
  • Onboarding and Offboarding
    • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding process.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Engage in positive teamwork with other team members and the wider corporate team to promote consistency of best practice across the organisation.
  • Professional Development
    • Take part in professional development and supervision to maintain and update knowledge and skills.
Requirements
  • Skills and Experience
    • High level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including the ability to mail merge.
  • Education and Qualifications
    • A Bachelor degree (AQF level 7) in Human Resources, or significant progress in working towards.
  • Desirable Qualifications
    • Experience in recruitment and selection processes.
    • Demonstrated experience working in HR administration.
