Job Overview

As a skilled CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining complex machinery to manufacture precision components.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of G-code programming, CAD/CAM software, and quality assurance checks.

This is a challenging role that requires a high degree of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

  • Operate multiple CNC machines efficiently and manage workflow to meet production targets.
  • Read and interpret complex engineering and CAD drawings to produce jobs to exact specifications.
  • Use CAD/CAM software to create or edit CNC programs.
  • Machine hydraulic cylinder components, shafts, and other heavy industrial parts to tight tolerances.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks with micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Perform machine adjustments, tool changes, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with workshop team members to troubleshoot and deliver on deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace in line with industry standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Trade-qualified CNC Machinist (Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent).
  • Proven CNC machining experience - programming, setting, and operating.
  • Ability to confidently operate multiple machines (lathes and mills).
  • Experience working with large or complex components to close tolerances.
  • Strong understanding of G-code and CNC control systems.
  • CAD/CAM software knowledge (highly desirable).
  • Skilled in precision measurement and quality assurance checks.
  • Ability to work independently with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented.
  • Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
