Mercy Community Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Program Manager to join our team. This is a permanent full-time position that will support several programs across the West region.

This role is responsible for contributing to the overall leadership and management of our services, delivering consistent implementation of best practice strategies to ensure the needs of children, young people, and adults are met, giving them the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a portfolio of services and programs for families, children, young people, and adults to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Client Support: Use models of practice, guidelines, and frameworks to assist clients in achieving their goals.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with the Regional Director to deliver appropriate services within available resources, continually assessing effectiveness and responding to changing needs and dynamics.
  • Staff Supervision: Lead, mentor, support, and supervise staff, and role model Mercy Community values and frameworks.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Prepare reporting against service agreements, other reports required, and submit these reports to the Regional Director/funding bodies in required timeframes.
  • Travel and On-Call Support: Regular travel across service catchment/delegated programs, and provide rostered after-hours on-call support if required.
  • Professional Development: Engage in reflective practice and participate meaningfully in regular supervision sessions.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

  • Essential Qualifications: Tertiary degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline, and significant relevant experience.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience within a social welfare context, including team supervision, financial management, and conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of Child Protection: Strong understanding and knowledge of the Queensland child protection system.
  • Driver's License: Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver's License.
  • Working with Children Check: Positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card), and the ability to obtain any other legislatively required personal history screening as required.
  • Hope and Healing Modules: Willingness to complete the Hope and Healing modules.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Management Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Management/Business.
  • First Aid and CPR: Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
  • Collaborative Program Experience: Experience in collaborative program arrangements with the Department, other service providers, and key stakeholders.
  • Cultural Competence: Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and societies, and the issues which impact upon them in contemporary society, together with a commitment to culturally appropriate engagement and practice.
