The Role

As a key member of the project team, you will lead and scale the Training & Development function, designing, implementing, and continuously improving technical and vocational training programs to build a skilled workforce for mining operations. You will be responsible for evaluating critical learning programs that ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant development of our mining project.

The Key Responsibilities

">

You will oversee the creation and delivery of technical and vocational training programs, including classroom instruction, on-the-job-skilling, simulations, apprenticeships, and blended learning (e-learning, workshops, coaching). You will ensure training approaches are contextually appropriate, especially for remote site conditions, and learning materials follow sound instructional design and adult learning principles.

You will also develop induction, safety/HSE, operational, and leadership training pathways as required. Additionally, you will establish robust metrics and evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness and impact of L&D programs, particularly focusing on safety compliance, incident reduction, and skill acquisition.

The Requirements

">

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field. You will also require 10+ years of experience in a training & development leadership role, preferably in mining, heavy industry, construction, or technical-vocational settings.

">

You should have experience with regulated safety training framework in a large-scale industrial project. A demonstrated ability to build training programs from the ground up, especially in areas with limited existing talent pools, is essential. You should also have strong understanding of core mining operations and the technical skills required.

">

You will need to collaborate closely with technical experts to translate complex knowledge into digestible training. Experience with blended learning, e-learning platforms, and innovative delivery methods suitable for remote and harsh environments is also desirable.

The Skills and Qualifications

">

This role requires strong leadership, project management, analytical, and interpersonal skills with proven capacity to lead cross-functional teams. Certification such as CPTD / CPLP / ATD Master Trainer or equivalent is preferred. Experience in remote site operations, cross-cultural environments, or community-based talent development is highly advantageous.
