Job Overview

The Department's strategic communications and media team is responsible for managing the corporate image, media relations, public profile and internal and external communication channels.

The role of this team is to ensure the voices of the Department and the Secretary are heard, that Departmental projects are visible, and that Departmental communications are effective.

This includes providing overarching strategic guidance and advice, managing all media, public relations, and social media activities, and ensuring consistency and alignment with the Department's strategic aims, goals, and priorities.

  • Work with the communications team to develop and deliver digital communications and engagement collateral, outputs and strategies for the Department.
  • Provide advice on the delivery of effective, professional, and innovative digital marketing and communications strategies, activities, and tools.
  • Produce and publish a range of digital communications and multimedia materials for use across the Department ensuring they meet agency and government policies and procedures.
  • Develop and manage the Department's social media content (paid and organic) across multiple platforms as well as content for the Department's internal and external web-based platforms.
