About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team at Queensland Corrective Services. As a key member of our HR team, you will play a critical role in leading and managing our human resources functions, ensuring the delivery of exceptional HR services to our Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and Manage HR Functions: Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the HR team, ensuring the effective management of HR services, including payroll operations, advice on human resource instruments and policies, and consultancy services to the senior leadership team.
  2. Implement and Manage Compliance: Develop and implement HR procedures and processes to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, and manage HR service delivery for the Centre.
  3. Staffing and Rostering: Utilize Agency rostering guidelines and principles to effectively manage staffing resources across a 24/7 operating environment.
  4. Communication and Problem-Solving: Demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to liaise with management and staff at all levels, providing high-level and complex advice on human resource matters.
  5. Performance Assessment and Feedback: Develop and implement performance assessment and feedback processes to ensure the effective management of staff performance.
Requirements
  1. Experience and Skills: Proven experience in managing, coaching, and leading staff across human resource functions, with excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  2. Knowledge and Application: Demonstrated knowledge and application of legislation, policies, and procedures relevant to human resource management, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
  3. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, coordinate activities, and meet deadlines.
  4. Performance Assessment and Feedback: Proven performance assessment and feedback skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective performance management processes.
