Job Opportunity for Young People

The role of the Youth Job Coach is critical in providing person-centred case management and mentorship to Transition to Work participants aged 15-24.

Key responsibilities include direct employer marketing, individual support, and facilitated group-based job search sessions. The coach will conduct assessments, set goals, stabilise non-vocational issues, improve vocational skills, refer to services, and motivate young people to find sustainable employment or re-enter education.

This fixed-term contract covers parental leave until October 2026.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working effectively with diverse groups of people, employers, and staff;
  • Knowledge of industry and labour market trends;
  • Assessment, case management, and motivational skills;
  • Effective communication to negotiate customised jobs for participants with barriers;
  • Motivation and relationship-building skills with all stakeholders;
  • Task and time management, attention to detail, and data integrity;
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office suite.

Requirements include a current driver's licence, Working with Children's Check, experience in youth or employment services, Certificate IV in Employment Services or Career Development, and demonstrated experience supporting young people into work and education.
