Senior Design Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Manager to lead projects and project teams on complex road infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in design management of major transport infrastructure projects.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the design of complex transport infrastructure projects, particularly major road projects.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of long-term plans aligned with our business strategy.
  • Procure work, negotiate contracts, and ensure positive financial and technical outcomes for projects.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, government agencies, contractors, and subconsultants.
  • Oversee and coordinate design teams across multiple disciplines and offices to ensure successful delivery of design packages.

Requirements:
  • Recognized tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in design management of major transport infrastructure projects.
  • Chartered membership of Engineers Australia (or equivalent) or significant progress toward membership.
  • Expertise in relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice, including OH&S.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
