Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

 

The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead our Finance and Budget Division within the Corporate and Enabling Services Group. This role requires in-depth knowledge and experience in contemporary financial management practices, as well as strong understanding of current accounting standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Finance and Budget Division, providing strategic oversight and guidance on financial matters.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to drive business solutions and enhance financial performance.
  • Maintain robust governance, compliance, audit, and risk controls across all aspects of financial management processes.

 

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and CPA/CA certification are highly desirable.
  • Experience in public sector finance, with a strong track record of leadership and innovation.
  • Excellent stakeholder and people management skills, with ability to consider multiple options to resolve complex issues.
