Land Management Officer Job Description

The role of Land Management Officer is crucial in the delivery of environmental services and conservation efforts within a designated area. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing works that enhance habitat and biodiversity values, working collaboratively with landowners and stakeholders to achieve these goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships and work collaboratively with landholders to plan environmental works and improve biodiversity outcomes.
  • Provide technical advice to landowners, assist them to develop works plans, and organise works through grants programs for improved biodiversity outcomes.
  • Administer, monitor, and report on environmental projects to meet funding requirements.
  • Participate in and deliver community engagement/education activities promoting sustainable land management practices.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in a field related to conservation and land management.
  • Native vegetation and sustainable land management knowledge and skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence, negotiate, and gain cooperation from community members with diverse backgrounds.
  • Project management skills and ability to write reports, manage budgets, and manage contractors.
  • Current valid Victorian Driver's Licence with 4WD training or experience.
