Job Title: Graduate Conservation Specialist

 

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will support biodiversity projects and initiatives across the organisation, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver environmental best practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the provision of advice and information on biodiversity and natural resource management to the community.
  • Interface with communications teams to produce collateral, communications, and related media.
  • Manage spatial data sets, provide mapping and spatial data interpretation as appropriate.
  • Support the Head of Biodiversity and Natural Resources in leading the organisation to align with State and Federal biodiversity strategy, targets and objectives.
  • Support the preparation of environmental reporting.
  • Support the development and alignment of environmental documentation relating to biodiversity, natural resource management, and climate adaptation.
  • Support the development and delivery of climate adaptation action planning.
  • Conduct environmental audits and investigations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geography, science (geospatial), environmental engineering or relevant field, completed 2024 or 2025. Foundational understanding of spatial data management and systems is essential, preferably with ARC GIS experience.

About You:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in environmental science, geography, science (geospatial), environmental engineering or relevant field, completed 2024 or 2025.
  • Foundational understanding of spatial data management and systems, preferably with ARC GIS.
  • Understanding of biodiversity, natural resource management concepts and processes.
  • Strong analytical thinking and data management ability.
  • Strong communication and engagement skills.
  • Strong attention to detail ensuring accuracy and quality of work.
  • Possession of a current Driver's license.
