Environmental Planning Role

Job Description:

As an environmental planner, you will be responsible for developing and implementing policies, strategies, and programs that promote the natural environment. This will involve working with various stakeholders to raise awareness and take action on environmental protection.

Key Responsibilities:

- Developing and implementing policies and strategies to protect the environment.

- Providing planning and policy advice to internal and external stakeholders.

- Implementing and reporting on actions related to environmental conservation.

- Preparing responses to native vegetation and habitat protection in planning documents.

- Developing and supporting relevant planning controls to protect significant trees and ecological sites.

- Conducting assessments of environmental planning submissions and supervising contractors and consultants.

Requirements:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental planning or a related field.

- A current Victorian driver's licence.

- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic land use and environmental planning.

- Expert knowledge of relevant state and federal government legislation as it relates to the environment and land use planning.

- Well-developed strategic and analytical skills to formulate solutions and options within a broad framework.
