Procurement Specialist - Construction

We are seeking a seasoned Procurement Specialist to spearhead the development and execution of strategic construction category sourcing initiatives across various supply chain tiers and geographies.

  • This role will drive cost optimization, increase competitiveness, and maintain continuity of supply while mitigating risks across geographical and business unit boundaries.
  • The successful candidate will have expertise in deep diving construction categories and regions to add value to the procurement process by identifying synergies, benchmarking, innovation, eliminating waste, and identifying economies of scale.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Drive Cost Optimization through negotiation, standardization, value engineering, and supply chain improvements.
  • Build effective internal and external relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and partners that enable collaborative working and a positive working environment.
  • Negotiate, execute, and manage framework agreements.
  • Support sustainability initiatives aligned with Amazon's Climate Pledge.
  • Provide market intelligence and strategic insights to stakeholders and procurement leadership to inform decision-making.
  • Deliver incremental value and process improvements within the construction category scope.
  • Innovate within the procurement space, automating and improving tools and processes to better support the Procurement Life-cycle.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years experience in procurement, contract, and/or commercial management within construction.
  • Experience developing strategies for procurement of various construction supply chain tiers (General Contractors, Tier 2/3 Subcontractors, Suppliers, OEMs).
  • Understanding of construction industry contracts and procurement processes.
  • Experience negotiating large-scale construction contracts.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage complex relationship interfaces.
