**About the Opportunity**

We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our team, specializing in APIs and Integrations. As a leader within the API team, you will drive the development and management of powerful APIs that are built to scale.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with engineers, technical leaders, product managers, and designers to scope out and develop high-quality code that delivers new features and roadmap items.
  • Establish and implement best practices for backend infrastructure focusing on scalability and reliability.
  • Work as a proactive member of system scoping discussions, technical specifications, and code reviews.
  • Roll out changes and migrations to customers in an agile manner with backward compatibility.
  • Create robust test cases for new API and integration capabilities.
Requirements:
  • BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or relevant engineering field.
  • 6+ years of professional backend software development, including developing public-facing API products.
  • Experience working within AWS (API Gateway, Lambdas, and the Serverless Stack).
  • Solid understanding of the full stack of technologies needed to build and run APIs (Render's API is built using FastAPI).
  • Expertise in RESTful API design and management, ensuring scalability and high performance.
  • Experience in microservices and designing webhooks or similar event-based technologies.
