Transport Network Manager

This role plays a critical part in the growth strategy and partnership development within the transportation network.

The ideal candidate will lead a high-performing team and position Primary Connect+ as a partner of choice for customers and carrier partners.

We are looking for someone with extensive experience in senior transport or supply chain roles, preferably within FMCG, retail, or 3PL sectors.

The Transport Network Manager will drive strategic planning and optimisation of our transport network to improve supply chain efficiencies. This includes building relationships and collaborating with carrier and network partners, focusing on safety, teamwork, and value creation.

The key responsibilities of this role include developing and nurturing relationships with transport carriers and network partners, prioritising safety, teamwork, and value creation.

The successful candidate will manage network changes and assess operational and commercial impacts, including new distribution centres or range adjustments.

This role will also own the strategic engagement model for new carriers based on needs identified within the development pipeline.

The Transport Network Manager will work closely with Business Development and Account Management teams to support network development for existing and new customers.

  • Develop and nurture relationships with transport carriers and network partners.
  • Collaborate with carrier partners to develop optimized network and transport solutions.
  • Manage network changes and assess operational and commercial impacts.
  • Own the strategic engagement model for new carriers.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in senior transport or supply chain roles.
  • Advanced knowledge of transport legislation, equipment design, network flows, and pricing and costing methodologies (Road & Rail).
  • Proven success in relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
