The Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Specialist plays a pivotal role in preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Tasmania's First Nations people.
This critical position involves providing expert advice on legislation and policy, while supporting the community and government to advance the recognition, management, and protection of Tasmania's unique Aboriginal cultural heritage.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing authoritative guidance on Aboriginal Heritage legislation and policy;
- Supporting the development and implementation of strategies to advance the recognition, management, and protection of Aboriginal cultural heritage;
- Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives that promote the preservation and celebration of Aboriginal culture;
Desirable requirements include:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in a related field;
- A current workplace level 2 First Aid Certificate or the ability to acquire one;
- A current motor vehicle driver's licence;
To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and a passion for preserving and promoting it. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
