Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Specialist

As an Aboriginal Heritage Advisor, you will provide expert advice on Aboriginal cultural heritage and contribute to the recognition, management and protection of Tasmania's unique cultural heritage.
This role is a key opportunity for an individual with a strong background in Aboriginal cultural heritage to make a meaningful contribution to the preservation of our state's rich history and culture.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert advice on Aboriginal cultural heritage legislation and support government agencies and community groups to advance the recognition, management and protection of Tasmania's unique cultural heritage.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and implement effective strategies for the conservation and management of Aboriginal cultural heritage sites.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote the protection and preservation of Aboriginal cultural heritage.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline such as archaeology, anthropology or Indigenous studies would be highly regarded.
- Experience working in Aboriginal cultural heritage and a strong understanding of Tasmanian Aboriginal cultural heritage practices and traditions would be essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to work effectively with government agencies, community groups and other stakeholders.
