About the role

As an Aboriginal Heritage Advisor, you will provide advice on Aboriginal Heritage legislation and support the community and government to advance the recognition, management and protection of Tasmania's unique Aboriginal cultural heritage.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Pre-employment requirements
  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment).
Essential requirements
  • The Head of the State Service has determined that this is an Aboriginal identified position and that the person nominated for this position is to meet the Tasmanian Government's eligibility requirements in accordance with Employment Direction No. 10 - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment in the State Service before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer.
Desirable requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline would be an advantage.
  • A current workplace level 2 First Aid Certificate or the ability to acquire one.
  • A current motor vehicle driver's licence.
