Waterways Manager

The Waterways Manager position is a key role in the City's success, overseeing the assessment of statutory permit applications and handling customer inquiries related to the Urban Drainage Act 2013. This position plays a vital part in ensuring timely reviews and responses to applications.
Closely collaborating with internal and external stakeholders ensures a comprehensive and efficient assessment process. Additionally, the role involves managing stormwater and waterways enquiries, balancing legal obligations with exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the Waterways Services Program and provide exceptional customer service.
- Assess statutory permit applications and respond promptly.
- Manage responses to customer enquiries regarding stormwater services.
- Oversee the financial allocation associated with the Waterways Services Program.
- Provide professional advice on planning and development of stormwater assets.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related field).
- Experience in assessing planning, building, and plumbing applications.
- Familiarity with catchment management plans.
- Able to interpret hydraulic, hydrological, and water quality assessments.
- Knowledgeable about statutory permit applications, particularly in planning, building, and plumbing.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret hydraulic modelling and mapping.
- Capable of leading, mentoring, and supporting team members.
