Operations Manager Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our team in overseeing the safe, efficient and cost-effective day-to-day operations of container facilities.

This key role involves managing container movements, yard planning, equipment utilisation and employee performance to ensure high service levels for internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Excellence: Meet/exceed productivity and operational performance targets, manage labour and equipment costs within budget, and effectively communicate with Supervisors regarding resources.
  • AQIS & Depot Compliance: Ensure compliance with AQIS/depot license requirements, maintain AQIS/licensing records, coordinate fumigation & tailgate inspections, and remediate any license breaches/notices.
  • People Leadership: Accountability and responsibility for the performance management of direct reports, observe team members to ensure they are adequately trained and assessed as competent to safely perform their duties, coach, mentor and directly supervise employees, and maintain employee engagement and positive workplace culture that fosters great performance.
  • Safety Management: Ensure compliance to Company Health Safety and Environment policies and procedures, lead by example in the execution of safe work practices, and continually identify and manage hazards to reduce accidents and injury.
  • Site/Asset Management: Ensure sound yard and asset maintenance, maintain knowledge of and implementation of the Site Security Plan, manage local damage claims in collaboration with other managers, and act as key point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders regarding containers and equipment.
  • Customer Service: Day-to-day management of customer's operational requests, allocate to the correct team where the request cannot be resolved initially, provide excellent customer service through deep understanding and knowledge of our customers' requirements and needs, proactively deliver exceptional customer service through early planning prompt actions and clear communication, and improve response time to customer requirements.
