Commercial Lawyer Role

We are looking for a commercial lawyer to join our in-house legal team in Perth. Ideally, you will have 5-10 years of post-qualification experience and a strong background in commercial law. As a commercial lawyer, you will work closely with our General Counsel to provide legal advice and support to the business. Your responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating contracts, advising on regulatory issues, and assisting with other legal matters.

About the Role

This is a broad and commercially based role, ideal for a capable and experienced commercial lawyer who is looking for a new challenge. As a senior commercial lawyer, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in the business and make a real impact. You will work closely with our General Counsel and other key managers to provide legal advice and support to the business. Your responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating contracts, advising on regulatory issues, and assisting with other legal matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting and negotiating contracts and commercial agreements
• Advising on regulatory issues and governance risks
• Assisting with other legal matters related to a large base of suppliers
• Working closely with key stakeholders across all levels of the business to provide legal advice and support
• Providing guidance and training to the business on legal matters
• Assisting with the development of a strong compliance framework

Requirements

• 5-10 years of post-qualification experience in commercial law
• Strong background in commercial law
• Ability to draft and negotiate contracts and commercial agreements
• Ability to advise on regulatory issues and governance risks
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work closely with key stakeholders across all levels of the business

Work can include general commercial, compliance, corporate/mergers & acquisitions, energy, projects, procurement, property and intellectual property and trademarks, insurance, and privacy, and possibly some litigation.
