About the Role

As a valued member of Sandfire's Legal, Compliance and Company Secretariat team, you will provide high-quality legal support to our Senior Legal Counsel.

This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your knowledge and expertise in mining and resources law, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced environment.

Your Spanish language proficiency, both spoken and written, is highly desirable and would be a significant asset in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare timely and accurate correspondence for the CLCO Team.
  • Develop initial drafts of standard documents from precedents, including confidentiality agreements, consultancy agreements, and variations.
  • Coordinate the execution of contracts and maintain accurate execution summaries.
  • Update and maintain the precedent register, tracking precedent renewal dates and ensuring timely reviews.
  • Review third-party terms and conditions, making recommendations and amendments as required.
  • Assist the CLCO Team in managing legal matters, including transactions and disputes.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks.
  • Conduct legal research as needed.
  • Provide support to the Company Secretariat as required.
  • Develop and maintain processes for efficient contract administration.
  • Assist with monitoring and compliance functions, including integrity and due diligence checks on new and existing suppliers, and Lexis Nexis Compliance monitoring.

About You

  • Hold a degree in Law.
  • Have a minimum of two years' experience as a paralegal or related legal role.
  • Be highly capable in Microsoft 365 and other office software, with experience in LawVu and SharePoint being desirable.
  • Exhibit a high level of initiative.
  • Have a basic understanding of corporate and mining laws and regulations.
  • Be a good team player with a strong work ethic and ability to effectively prioritise.
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Be proficient in Spanish, although not essential.
