Effective support for veterans and their families facing housing challenges is a top priority.
About the RoleWe are seeking a Housing Support Practitioner to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based, and person-centred support to individuals in need of housing assistance.
- You will empower clients to overcome barriers to securing and maintaining safe, stable, and sustainable housing by guiding them through the complexities of the rental market and assisting them in accessing public, social, and community housing options where eligible.
- You will foster active client engagement in the identification, development, and implementation of individualised housing goals through personalised case management plans.
- Case managing clients who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness is also an essential part of this role, as well as assisting with applications for social and community housing; private rental applications; and tenancy sustainment strategies and support.
To be successful in this role, you will have completed an undergraduate degree in Human Services, Social Sciences, Health Sciences (or equivalent) and have experience working in housing and homelessness services, with a strong understanding of relevant policies, support frameworks, and community resources.
A strong understanding of the ADF environment and its unique sensitivities would also be beneficial.
