Job Title: Trackwork Riders

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Trackwork Riders to join our team. As a key member of our racing stable, you will play a vital role in the preparation and care of our horses.

Your primary responsibility will be to exercise horses by walking, riding, leading, swimming, and attending to their needs during trackwork, barrier trials, jump outs, and races. You will also report to the trainer on the horses' progress and performance, assemble and prepare horse gear as directed, and check for lameness, injuries, and other health issues.

In addition to your technical skills, you will need to be able to work autonomously and as part of a team. You must have excellent communication skills, be reliable, honest, and loyal, and possess a passion for horse riding and caring for animals.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years riding experience as a Trackwork Rider/Jockey
  • Hold a Certificate III In Racing (Trackwork Rider)
  • Physically fit
  • Hold a current Australian Drivers Licence and own vehicle
  • Ability to ride Timed Pacework and Gallops
  • Ability to ride and educate young horses
  • Maintaining and caring for horses, including grooming and tacking up when required
  • FOLLOW instructions from the Trainer and Management
